Who bought the world’s most expensive necklace, L’Incomparable – Robb Report

Ten years ago, Lebanese jeweler Mouawad’s L’Incomparable necklace was recognized by Guinness World Records as “The Most Valuable Necklace on Earth”. The extraordinary piece includes the world’s largest flawless diamond, the Yellow He stone weighing over 407 carats, and is set with another 102 diamonds. His stunning $55 million necklace has since been sold to find out who bought it.

Luxury Launches reports that the buyer is philanthropist Nita Ambani, the wife of billionaire businessman and Reliance Group heir Mukesh Ambani. But Nita didn’t keep the necklace for herself, instead giving it to her daughter-in-law Shroka Mehta when she married Ambani’s son Akash in March 2019. .

Their ceremony, held in Mumbai, India, was attended by some of Bollywood’s brilliants, including actresses Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kareena Kapoor and Rai Bachchan. (Coldplay played a concert at the reception.)

Beyond its status as a moving keepsake, the necklace is a fine piece of art in its own right. The giant diamond is connected to a network of 18 carat rose gold branches set with an additional 229 carats of white diamonds.

Akash Ambani and Shloka Meta first met when they were toddlers at Dhirubhai Ambani school in Mumbai. Mehta holds a BA in Anthropology from Princeton University and an MA in Law and Anthropology from the London School of Economics. Meanwhile, Ambani started studying at Brown University. He reportedly proposed to Meta on the last day of class. In March 2018, the couple hosted a private engagement party in Goa to help Ambani’s parents and other close family members celebrate their new milestone.

The couple’s wedding took place on March 9, 2019 at Geo World Centre, BKC, Mumbai. Japanese cherry blossoms covered the entrance that welcomed guests to the venue and many cascading installations made from leaves. They even made a towering statue of Lord Krishna posing with a flute. A large conch shell made of pink flowers was placed behind the idol for contrast.

Since 1990, Mouawad has been recognized by Guinness World Records five times. Its latest induction is The Flower of Eternity Jewelry Coffer (the world’s most valuable jewelry box) set with 542 carats of white and yellow diamonds. Others include the jeweler’s 1001 Knights and his diamond purse, the world’s most valuable handbag. A super sexy fantasy bra made for the 2003 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (the most expensive bra in the world). Splendor (the most expensive single pear-shaped diamond). And with that kind of history, one can only wonder what record-breaking collectibles they’ll come up with next.
