Syracuse — Broken jewels lurking around your home? Forgotten items hidden in dusty drawers?
This is your chance to learn basic jewelry repairs and actually wear them again. The Syracuse Public Library will host a jewelry repair clinic on Wednesday, May 17th at 4:00pm.
Please bring your damaged jewelry to the meeting room downstairs. The library is equipped with basic tools and limited repair supplies needed. Sherry Kruger and Becky Brower teach the class, and participants come home with skills to repair jewelry and fix future breakages.
Also, mark your calendars for May’s second repair clinic, an all-ages smartphone photography clinic. Emilia Rain teaches participants how to take great photos with their smartphones and how to use apps to fix photos that don’t quite clear the hurdles. The clinic will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd at 5:30pm in the conference room downstairs.

Writers of all skill levels and genres are invited to attend Workshop, SPL’s adult writing group, on Tuesday, May 16 at 1:00 PM in the conference room downstairs. Bring and share your creations or hear what others are working on. Groups typically enjoy writing discussions and baked goods during each session.
Adult book clubs discuss Colin Cotterill’s Coroner’s Lunch in two sessions. The digital discussion will be held on Zoom on Tuesday, May 16th at 6pm. Please contact Becky Brower. young adult activities
Young people can kick back at Color and Chill on Wednesday, May 17 from 4-5pm in the Rosalyn Jones Room. The library offers dozens of coloring pages and snacks to choose from. Meanwhile, in the background, lo-fi music plays and young people paint.
Fancy a board or card game? The library will be hosting a board game night for young adults on Thursday, May 18, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Rosalyn Jones Room. During May, the group will sample the game “Harry Potter Scene It?”, which tests players’ knowledge of the book and movie series. How much do you know about the world’s most famous wizard?
