The Jewish Spiritual Leaders Association – JSLI – Ordains the 24th Rabbis. On June 17th, a class of 9 rabbinical students and 1 cantorial student from across the United States will come together online for an intimate ordination/shabaton experience. They have time to share their dreams, hopes and concerns for the future, and present their research papers with each other and in Bettdin. Friends and family can also participate, and the online experience brings together people from all over the world.

Many of our students are achieving lifelong dreams, and JSLI prides itself on making research relevant and accessible for Jewish clergy. JSLI focuses on training rabbis on the practical issues they face. Its purpose is to serve the independent, interfaith, and disenfranchised Jews of today. Each student brings a unique perspective and life experience to the school, which adds to the richness of the program and creates lasting connections with each other and with others within the school after graduation.

Rabbi Stephen Blaine developed the school to train those who wanted to become Jewish ministers but were unable to attend the five-year program. Even before COVID-19, the school was always online, making learning more accessible, including for this student population from across North America.
